It is set to receive GPS system signal by default. It is not possible to receive from GPS and GLONASS systems simultaneously. The green led will flash when satellite connection is established. Be sure to have a clear view of the sky. Inside buildings, probably it will not be able to connect to satellites, but inside boats it will.

If you are starting a GPS for the first time, or after it has been powered off for more than a few weeks, this is a 'cold start'; it needs to get a new satellite almanac to do its job. The satellites broadcast this information very slowly (at 50bps) on a fixed schedule, and it can take up to 20 minutes. More details.

Linux, Navigatrix, OpenPlotter and Windows compatible.

Linux

No drivers needed, just connect and wait for green led to flash. Set your navigation software to read from serial port /dev/ttyACM0 (last character might be different) at any baud rate.

Navigatrix

No drivers needed, just connect and wait for green led to flash. Type sudo dpkg-reconfigure gpsd In a terminal window. Say "Yes" to the first and the second screen. Type /dev/ttyACM0 into the third screen. Set by default the next screens. Reset. GPS signal will be present in all programs that need it.

OpenPlotter

If device is not recognized at startup, set a delay of 12 seconds in "Startup" tab.

Windows

Download and install u-center GNSS evaluation software. Set your navigation software to read from the assigned COM serial port at any baud rate.
